Alex and Alexis the hip couple in Brooklyn whose engagement session i recently photographed - were married this weekend at BAM in Brooklyn. The wedding was beautiful - the couple wrote their own vows - it got quite emotional - a friend was the officiant and a hip band called Vampire weekend played especially for them and had everyone on the dance floor singing their original tunes.

We really lucked out today since the day called for heavy thunderstorms.
When Jeff and I arrived to their pre ceremony location it was quite dry with the exception of dark clouds. We were able to head outdoors for the first look and candid shots when Alexis commented, I call it playing with fate, announced how great that it wasn't raining. Well, we all hollered "DON"T SAY THAT" of course it started to rain just as we finished whew!

Because it was dark and raining outside - we took many of the casual family shots indoors. I thought the green backdrop would be perfect and different. We had so much fun and so did the family.

What a hoot! the girl on the right has a drink in each hand.
